Famous Street Artists Bring Colourful Murals to Schools All Over Ukraine
Artists from all over the world prepared a wonderful surprise for Ukrainian kids at the start of the 2017 school year. This past September, children in Kyiv, Odesa, Popasna, Kharkiv, Kovel, Volnovaha, Popasna, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Kremenchuh and other cities were welcomed back to school with beautiful art murals plastered over their school’s walls.
The project, called “Back to school,” was organized by the Mural Social Club and supported by UNICEF. The transformation began on June 1st, International Children’s Day.
Oleh Sosnov, the curator of the project, thinks that modern art has a positive influence on the development, esthetic education, and worldview of children who in everyday life rarely see modern art and examples of creative urbanism.
